My mother
started doing crafts about 20 years ago ... I started helping her shortly
after that. We are Mohawk and of the turtle clan and have lived on
Six Nations Reserve all our lives. We started doing bead work
and loom work initially, then we got into moccasin making. Later my mother
expanded her knowledge and start sewing the traditional outfits.
Needless to say, we do a variety of crafts and are always looking for
something new to try. My mother has recently opened up her own craft
shop located at 937 Third Line Rd on Six Nations Reserve.
